Verbeke Foundation pt 2

And here are more pictures of my trip to the Verbeke Foundation. We sort of got lost there too.

There were still plants growing in the greenhouse. Here was a little squash that I took with me.

These flowers are called Oost-Indische kers in Dutch and I have never seen so many of them in one place. They have very nice leaves I think.

Verbeke Foundation pt 1

Saturday I went to Belgium for an excursion of school. The first museum we went to was from the Verbeke Foundation. It was very nice, they turned an old greenhouse company into a museum. Sometimes it was not clear whether it was part of the artwork or just some leftover of the greenhouses.

Anyway, I started sorting through my photos, so here are some. I will be posting more later I think.

I am not sure if I was supposed to be in the rooms of the last two photos. The doors were not locked, but it more seemed like someone's workplace and sleeping room (there were beds too, but no sign of life at all). Guess I will never know. xD

Yesterday I had an excursion to Belgium. I will post about that later, I am still sorting my pictures (I took a lot of them!).

photo update

It has been a while since my last photo update, I guess there was not much to take pictures from. Now I finished some things and got some nice things from a book store so I guess it is time for a photo update now.

I finished this drawing, it is based upon a screen shot of the Hunger Games. I really liked the book actually so I thought I would do something with that for my artwork.

From my previous job I got a gift card I could spend at a book store. I actually did not buy any books, but spent it on an agenda and magazines. That purple thing on the left is the agenda, I think it loooks very neat. That other magazine is Flow, some kind of lifestyle magazine. I like browsing through it. It has interesting articles and I like the way they designed it. It also got some neat patterns for crafting in it.

My gift card had some money left so I bought these two magazines as well. I felt nostalgic, so I bought that Pokemon magazine. I will use that photo magazine for references for drawing practice.

I used that paper from Flow magazine for creating this new cut-out illustration. I added a light to it now. I actually should add a pillow and bed for as well I think. I like this result already though.

In Saturday's school lesson we edited images without Photoshop. I used several copies of the same image to get some interesting effects.

It is funny how the focus changes with some color changes.

After that we had to make an illustration based upon the image. And you actually was allowed to use your own preferred medium so I chose ballpoint pens of course.
