text and image

Saturday's lesson was about text and images. We experimented with different sentences from headlines of news papers. It is actually more interesting to Dutch readers since it were all Dutch sentences.

One of my sentences was "Bouw nog licht en berg"
practically makes no sense in Dutch either.

^ this one was "Het kan nog Bouwjaar?"

"Jos van Snuffelen inventiever" and "Wie is Nieuwegeiner?"

These were other variations of the previous sentences.

This assignment reminded me about the HKU, which is a Dutch art school, pretty much.

associations

Saturday's lesson was about associations. We had to pick an object to associate with. I took a bracelet I had.

It looked a bit like a donut so my first association was a donut. That reminded me of things at the beach. I drew all these associations on paper and colored them with chalk.

I have been trying some new things with ballpoints. This is a follow-up on a previous photo I made. But now I drew it entirely.

And the last one is not finished yet, this might be a tribute to a very well-known store here. If you can guess it, you are probably Dutch: it is Zeeman. :D

I tried to draw a figure in movement from photo. That leg and foot came out pretty weird :/

Leaving the lab we found some more artworks.

I also could take a picture of the scenery, it really looks like a factory. That white bus was our tour bus.

Quite digged this style, almost like graffiti.

And there was a car door on a wall. Not sure why, I guess it was art?

And outside there was this little cabin. Seems kind of fun to live in something like that.

These installations were pretty cheerful in real life, they lighted up sometimes too.

Interesting quote, too bad they made it really obvious what sentence it is based upon.

And now we are entering the laboratory, full of dead animals and chemicals.

I hope these were just found dead and not killed. Anyway, it was a pretty uneasy place, some others skipped this part.
