School work from Saturday. I ended drawing pollen since the teacher liked that idea the most. The lesson was about connecting your personal life to your artwork. I thought of some things and hayfever was one of them. Hayfever has quite an impact on me because I have had it much since childhood.

Remaking Velazquez

Yesterday I had school. My task was to remake a work by the painter Velazquez. The teacher chose this painting of a little girl in a big dress for me to work on.

First we had to edit copies of the painting by hand. Here I made her "3D".

Erasing all unnecessary details

Replacing things (and I mader her taller too)

I even made her into a cartoony style.

After that I started working on the big version. I had to make my own version of this painting so I chose my favourite medium: ballpoint pens. I also used pencils, markers and paint.

busy drawing differently

For school I have been drawing in a different way. I quite like it. The above drawing is actually not blue but my camera is a bit weird sometimes.

These were the sketches I made before the fish picutre.

After that I sketched some more ideas...

These are all sketches and one of them may become one of the final works.

judgement day

Saturday it was judgement day at school again. I created quite much work this time. Some of it you have already seen here. Now I took some pictures of the things I forgot to photograph. For next period they want me to use more color. I hope that will make me create some really cool things.

This is one of my personal favourites, it looks pretty weird though.

text and image

Saturday's lesson was about text and images. We experimented with different sentences from headlines of news papers. It is actually more interesting to Dutch readers since it were all Dutch sentences.

One of my sentences was "Bouw nog licht en berg"
practically makes no sense in Dutch either.

^ this one was "Het kan nog Bouwjaar?"

"Jos van Snuffelen inventiever" and "Wie is Nieuwegeiner?"

These were other variations of the previous sentences.

This assignment reminded me about the HKU, which is a Dutch art school, pretty much.

drawing update

For school I drew a big Hello Kitty and a soldier. Inspired by the associations lesson.

I drew this house and I am looking for ways to experiment with it. For now I just placed a thermometer in front of it. Yes, that little statue with parrot is a thermometer. Maybe I should place some other figures in front of it too.

And I finished my Sailor drawing. Not sure if I like it a lot, but at least it is done now. :>

In Saturday's school lesson we edited images without Photoshop. I used several copies of the same image to get some interesting effects.

It is funny how the focus changes with some color changes.

After that we had to make an illustration based upon the image. And you actually was allowed to use your own preferred medium so I chose ballpoint pens of course.

cutouts and crochet

For school I have been trying to make images with cut-outs. It is funny how you can create different images with just one drawing. It is also funny to bring your 2D drawing into the 3D world.
I might use that first one for my deviantART page.

I also made a sleeping cut-out. I was thinking of making cut-outs for objects too. Maybe so that I can fill a whole illustration with it.

Other than that, I have been crocheting. I accidentely made this yarn look like a bow xD

photo update

I got some new yarn to start something new with crocheting. You see the first chain in the top picture.

And I tried something with cutouts, but this self-portrait came out a bit weird. It's so cheerful in a way.

and I finished this big ballpoint/ink drawing, it is A2 actually. It is an enlarged movie still, but I have not seen the movie and I cannot remember it. The actress is from a Dutch show called "Wie is de Mol?", that's the only thing I know.
