still lives

it has been a while since I posted still life paintings. Recently I decided to do them again since I really need some practice. The last three ones are done rather quickly.

works for judgement day

So Judgement Day at school was some days ago. And I finally now have the time to put up some works I created for it. Some paintings that I posted before were judged too, but you already have seen those if you read that blogpost.

 They found this painting very interesting :D well it is about periods. I guess that's why.

Big ink drawing, too bad the photo makes it look like the right side is way lighter than the left side. In real life that is not the case.
And good news, I can start at the second year of art school! I am really glad. :>

picture book

At my previous art school we had to keep picture books with what inspired us. Today I found one of those picture books again and it is really fun to look at. Here are a few pages I scanned. These images come from magazines, news papers, cards and flyers. This book must be like... 5 years old now.

figured it was some time to practice drawing animals again. I used to draw lots of animals when I was younger. These are all done from photos.
Also I saw Star Trek: Into Darkness last night. It was a really nice film. I think I will do some studies from moviestills too now :>

meet the new sketchbook

Whoah, previous update was yesterday and I am updating now already!
I wonder if that will happen more often. xD

I have been drawing in my new sketchbook now. There are also some random notes in it from school and work. I got this sketchbook from a magazine, it was this special offer thing. I actually only bought the magazine to get the book of course.

rough paintings

*yawn* Really tired of work today. I had to do lots of stuff. @_@
So to cheer myself up I am going to tell you what I did for painting class lately.  I loved this class for the experiments and freedom in painting.

Here we started with sketching up some compositions. These are kinda messy on a big paper.

And here is the first composition I completed. I took various elements from other photographs to put in the picture, such as the window, mirror, house and girl/woman.

After that I still had some time left, so I made this really quick painting, which was also based upon one of the composition sketches. This one took about 20 minutes or so.

Then I also had the opportunity to make some personal work with painting. This first one is themed about... whores. XD And yeah I broke every rule of anatomy.

Second one is more manga inspired. I kinda like the brush strokes in this one.
Hmmz final judgement of this year is coming up, I should hurry and finish all my other stuff for academy too!
