Verbeke Foundation pt 2

And here are more pictures of my trip to the Verbeke Foundation. We sort of got lost there too.

There were still plants growing in the greenhouse. Here was a little squash that I took with me.

These flowers are called Oost-Indische kers in Dutch and I have never seen so many of them in one place. They have very nice leaves I think.

Verbeke Foundation pt 1

Saturday I went to Belgium for an excursion of school. The first museum we went to was from the Verbeke Foundation. It was very nice, they turned an old greenhouse company into a museum. Sometimes it was not clear whether it was part of the artwork or just some leftover of the greenhouses.

Anyway, I started sorting through my photos, so here are some. I will be posting more later I think.

I am not sure if I was supposed to be in the rooms of the last two photos. The doors were not locked, but it more seemed like someone's workplace and sleeping room (there were beds too, but no sign of life at all). Guess I will never know. xD

In Saturday's school lesson we edited images without Photoshop. I used several copies of the same image to get some interesting effects.

It is funny how the focus changes with some color changes.

After that we had to make an illustration based upon the image. And you actually was allowed to use your own preferred medium so I chose ballpoint pens of course.

These pages are drawn during a wedding, at home, during train rides and at school. For school we had to write about pictures, and I wrote it in my sketchbook. It is all in Dutch.

"Foto 1"

Op de zwarte tafels liggen meerdere foto's, een zeefdruk en een stapel papier. Het lijkt alsof een detective ze op tafel heeft gegooid als doorslaggevend bewijs. De zeefdruk is een simpele print van het silhouet van een bloem met een blad. De steeltjes van de stuifmeelkorrels strekken zich uit alsof het klauwen zijn. De bloem lijkt bloeddorstig te zijn en te smachten naar een nieuwe prooi. De andere haartjes lijken opeens op tanden. De bloem heeft één enkel blad, dat scherp uitsteekt en doet denken aan een haaienvin.
